A good Samaritan

Dear Editor:

I recently had the most horrible experience. I have to tell someone. I was walking home from the Aspen Club, and a bear crossed Highway 82. I crossed the highway to avoid the bear, tripped and fell on the edge of the road and broke my glasses, and of course I couldn’t get up. I am 72.

A car coming toward me could not see me on the ground – probably on her cell phone. Fortunately a truck in front of me stopped and picked me up and waved the woman down. She was driving that fast in a 25 mph zone. Cars coming from the other direction did stop. I really do have to thank Brian Bungarten and his wife of McCartney Property Management for saving my life. Yes, the bears are still around, and there are still good people.
