A good float
Dear Editor:The Roaring Fork Conservancy would like to thank all of the participants, sponsors, and volunteers who made River Float 2005 such a tremendous success. On June 11, we took over 140 people down the Roaring Fork River from Carbondale to Glenwood Springs to experience the valley from the river’s perspective. Thanks to the wonderful volunteer on-board river naturalists, participants learned invaluable information on wildlife, plants and water issues.Much thanks to Bob and Laurie Harris and Rich Zelter of Blazing Adventures and Kevin Schneider and Christine Bourne of Rock Gardens Rafting who provided the 15 rafts, equipment and guides for the float. Our other sponsors included: Roaring Fork Real Estate, The Aspen Times, Glenwood Springs Post Independent, City of Glenwood Springs, Safeway, Backdoor Catering, Glenwood Canyon Brewing Company, Innermountain Distributing, Clark’s Market and City Market. This event would not have been possible without the amazing community support we received! If you missed us this year, join us for River Float 2006 on June 10.Tim O’KeefeRoaring Fork Conservancy
