A gerbil up his what?

Regarding Allyn Harvey’s column of Aug. 19.

It seems you have that infernal gerbil up your behind and you are unhappy about your life in general in the Roaring Fork Valley.

The town of Basalt has no desire to compare, nor compete, with the town of Carbondale (nor any other town/city).

Each town has celebrations in the summer months to bring people/ community together. Many people in and around the town of Basalt volunteer their time, energy and love of the Basalt community to our River Days (every summer).

Allyn, if you didn’t have a good time at River Days, please look inside yourself. We are so fortunate to live in our beautiful valley. Please reconsider your view.
