A few thoughts

Dear Editor:

I love election time; brings out the best and worst in all of us. A quick observation: I am tired of hearing what everyone is against, time to tell us what you believe in. The one thing I have heard from Jack is that he believes in community.

Strangely enough that is what I came here for. As it is being stolen from us, I believe it is even more important to support someone who understands what community is about, and doesn’t play at politics. Human scale, some sort of cohesive land-use plan, preservation, a safe, walk-able community. I urge you to look at why you came to this magic place and join many of us in supporting Jack Johnson for commissioner.

A quick note on Chris Bendon’s letter about the city’s approach to the art museum. He was right about all the meetings they held; what he didn’t mention is that their mind was already made up. They hold these meetings to see if they can’t get a few citizens won over to their side. There was never a thought of responding to any input from anyone. Both the city and county have been using this technique for many years.

Also, what the hospital is asking for is way too much. What they can’t fund internally isn’t viable. No on 5A and 5B.
