A double standard?

Dear Editor:Your editorial on the terror attack at the Basalt 7-Eleven (“Feeling racial tension close to home,” June 29) was certainly a sniveling, ugly piece of hypocrisy. Had two white men sought out and threatened a minority clerk for say wearing a T-shirt with a foreign flag on it and later came back to try and murder him, you would be screaming hate crime and demanding the police make an arrest.Because the victim was white (ironically homeless while the police can contact the apparent perpetrator at his residence), you blame him and suggest he forgo his rights to free expression, about the only thing the poor guy has left. You, of course, are free to flaunt your anti-white racism in an unsigned editorial.Richard GordonAspen
