A dive bar bites the dust

Dear Editor:

The closing of Cooper Street Pier marks the end of hole-in-the-wall restaurants and bars that gave Aspen character and charm.

Not only are the businesses gone (Red Onion, The Mother Lode, La Cocina, etc.), the unique buildings that housed them have been replaced with huge, ugly brick buildings. Good luck, Aspen.
