A day to remember

Dear Editor:

I want to express my gratitude and appreciation to all of the people who attended the wonderful Veterans Day ceremony. It seems every year the celebration gets better and more meaningful. That was truly the case with this year’s event.

The participants in this year’s ceremony made this day extra special. With the participation of the Cub Scout Pack 200 in the flag ceremony, and to the several veterans who spoke so eloquently in sharing their experiences, this was a most memorable day. What a wide variety of stories from these veterans and what an insight into their experiences.

Thanks again to Jeannie Walla and to Dick Sundeen for the beauty they bring to our gathering.

My thanks to the Colonel for all his work and efforts with the ceremony; it would not happen without him. This was a difficult day as we remembered a fallen friend, Howie Berg. I know he was there in spirit, right beside us, as he always was.

Thank you all for a great day.

Dan Glidden
