A couple of Joe stories

Aspen has lost another old-timer, Joe Burgert.

You probably have run an obituary, but here are two stories that might be of interest and may not be included.

Years ago, Joe arranged to have a helicopter carry an outhouse over the city around noon. The building in the air was a sight to see. It was bound for a camp in the mountains.

Once, some ski instructors had a party up on Highlands. They left to ski down on the T Lazy 7 trail. Joe told me that Stein [Erickson] had to snowplow to get down.

Joe had a movie of Dick Button spinning in an ice rink. It was a good spin. So good that Dick’s toupee flew off.
