A celebration of life

Dear Editor:

Today, I experienced a great day. I woke up this morning and hopped on my bike and rode up the Rio Grande Trail to Aspen. What a beautiful day: the colors where luxurious, the air fresh and the sun was shinning brightly. My goal was to meet several people at the Aspen Art Museum and ride to the Riverside Grill in Basalt with Leah Potts and experience first-hand what stem-cell treatments have done for her and raise a few dollars at the same time. It was exciting to see the joy on Leah’s face to be out riding with a few of her friends, building up a good sweat and getting the heart pounding.

Because of the treatments, Leah was able to ride the 18 miles to Basalt. The strength of the human spirit is potent when hope abounds this ride was a celebration of that human spirit. The spirit is in all of us allowing us to do great things.

Stem-cell research is one of those great things and Leah is a living example of the success of the stem-cell process. Leah is need of a few more stem-cell treatments and could use your help with medical expenses. If you would like to help go to LeahPotts.com and click on donate and help out with what you can. This is only the beginning for the hopeful uses of stem cell therapy and the positive effects stem cells can have on people’s lives.
