A Cattle Creek cattle call

Re: Rezoning

I am writing in response to the county commissioners giving one week for public comment to change the zoning on the now named Cattle Creek Crossing. First off, let me say I believe this to be a very limited time frame for public comment given the magnitude of what the commissioners are considering. Next, I would like to state for the record I believe a development of this size, 979 homes, is very out of keeping with the rural area.

This area has a large herd of elk. I have not heard anything from either developers or the commissioners on this consideration.

When this area first came up for development, 600 people showed up at the commissioners meeting in defense of the land. We don’t want high-density development on the Highway 82 corridors. The challenges of roads and bridges are already inadequate for the current population. Adding 979 new households will drastically magnify these problems.
