A Buddy Program thanks

The Buddy Program thanks our generous community! This past week our community turned out in record numbers to support our local children.

On July 2, 450 revelers danced the night away at Boogie’s Disco Bash for the Buddies, hosted by Boogie at his Merry-Go Ranch. Then, on July 4 over 1,400 runners and walkers joined forces in the Boogie’s Diner Buddy Five Mile Race.

Together, these two fund-raisers will provide mentors to over 140 of our community’s children. The volunteer mentors work to increase their Little Buddies’ self-esteem, confidence and ability to make healthy, responsible choices. We are tremendously grateful to everyone who made these events so successful.

Thank you to our wonderful volunteers, who give their time and share so much love and guidance with their Little Buddies and to those who volunteered at our race and gala. Thank you to our board of directors, a dedicated group of dynamic residents who support us all year long.

And, of course, we are so grateful to our funders, gala patrons, live and silent auction donors, race sponsors and participants, who allow us to carry out our mission of providing mentors to children in need.

We are forever grateful to Lenny “Boogie” Weinglass, who is amazingly committed to helping improve the lives of our community’s children. He spends hundreds of hours helping us plan the gala and sell all the tickets. He is also the lead sponsor of the Boogie’s Diner Buddy Five Mile Race.

Boogie’s commitment to children reaches far beyond the call of duty. He gives of his heart as well as his time and support. We are inspired by Boogie’s extraordinary level of devotion to improving the lives of our local children. His kindness and generosity will brighten the lives of so many for years to come.
