A boost for prep sports
As the Aspen High fall sports season comes to a close and the winter sports season kicks off, the Aspen High School Booster Club would like to thank the community for its resounding support of our local student athletes.
The booster club relies heavily on volunteers to make our sporting events and club activities happen. Thank you to the city of Aspen, the Aspen Volunteer Fire Department, Mark Lampe, the Maroon Creek Club, the Wienerstube Restaurant, Harald Newburg, Klaus Obermeyer, Paradise Bakery, Jeff White, Randy Ready, Steve “Jaws” Jaworski, Carol Sams, Sydney Mondry, David Cottrell and the Aspen High School student senate for making Spirit Week and Homecoming such an overwhelming success.
Thank you to Alpine Bank, the Student Booster Club, the Aspen High School dance team, Paradise Bakery, Papa John’s Pizza, Stephanie Swim, Aspen Caterers, GrassRoots TV, Ashley Allison, Andrew Kole, Aspen Ambulance crew, Joy Brooks, our extraordinary sports announcer Bruce Johnson and to all the clubs and parents who worked the volleyball and football concession stands, for making the volleyball games and the football Friday Night Lights and Saturday playoff games fun events.
A very special thank-you to the community for cheering our football team through the quarterfinals. The community support meant the world to the football players and coaches.
Thank you to KSNO, Don Chaney, KSPN, David Bach, The Aspen Times, Jon Maletz and The Snowmass Sun for their coverage of our local student athletes; it is much appreciated. We love reading and hearing about our local children doing well!
We invite everyone to come to the Aspen High School boys and girls basketball games, the ice hockey games, swimming meets, and nordic and alpine ski races. In addition, please check the aspenk12.net website to see the schedules for upcoming concerts, plays and other amazing high school activities. Everyone is invited to join the booster club, with 100 percent of your donation supporting the student body at Aspen High School. A membership form can be found on the aspenk12.net website. The booster club has Aspen High School logo gear for sale, which make great gifts! Please visit the booster club tab on the aspenk12.net website.
We hope to see everyone Feb. 24-25 at Aspen Highlands when Aspen High School will host the state alpine and nordic ski championships.
Our children are lucky to live in a community that supports their youth so well, thank you.
