A blight on Main Street

Dear Editor:

The utility boxes that the Colorado Department of Transportation just installed at each traffic light are the single ugliest addition to Main Street that I have seen in my 30-plus years here.

Couldn’t the city have worked with CDOT to achieve a design that is more compatible with the Historic District? These appear to be utterly without thought in terms of their size, location and lack of design. I’d like to know why we couldn’t have done better!
