A Big Buddy celebration

Dear Editor:

Last Thursday, Oct. 18, more than 250 Big and Little Buddies and their families gathered at the St. Regis hotel for The Buddy Program’s annual celebration dinner.

Oh, what a night! Face painting, dining and dancing were just some of the fun activities that took place at this unforgettable party. Some members of the board of directors and National Council joined in on the festivities. Parents repeatedly thanked the Big Buddies for making such life-changing connections with their children, and the Little Buddies’ faces beamed with appreciation for their Big Buddies.

The smiles on all of the faces of the children as they danced the night away made it clear that the mission of The Buddy Program, providing young people the opportunity to grow through adult mentoring, was hard at work. Thank you to everyone who came and celebrated with us!

The Buddy Program is a nonprofit organization that connects mentors and youth to enrich their lives and provides support services for both the youth and their families. To become a Big Buddy o lend your support, contact The Buddy Program at 925-5717, or http://www.buddyprogram.org.
