The Aspen Chamber Resort Association (ACRA) rolled out the red carpet for the 22nd annual Food & Wine Magazine Classic over the weekend of June 18-20. The popular and premier festival for foodies and wine connoisseurs alike drew guests from around the world for another well-orchestrated series of events.”ACRA and Food & Wine magazine really have a great partnership,” said ACRA special events director Jennifer Albright Carney. “We’re fortunate that they are so committed to the Aspen community and continue to come back each year and they’re very happy with having the event here.”The wining and dining at the Grand Tastings held in Wagner Park, cooking demonstrations and seminars staged at establishments around town, as well as the parties at hotels, houses and parks were nothing short of a celebration.A highlight from the weekend would have to include the Australian Wine Bureau’s bash in the West End on Saturday night replete with caterers, endless bottles of Australian wine and hospitable hosts who opened up their home to 400-some guests. Also on the list of not-to-be-missed happenings was the poolside party at The Sky Hotel’s 39 Degrees hosted by Gran Centenario tequila on Sunday afternoon. “This whole weekend has been great,” said Steve Bartalacci of Shamrock Foods. “The Classic is the best event of the year.”
