Libations: Shade in the shadows

- Green Tea Vodka
- Lavender-Hibiscus
- Black tea
- Lemon
- Soda
I’m not sure about you, but summer seems to be flying by. This edition of the Aspen Times Weekly will be on the stands in July — and on the Fourth of July. As is tradition since Gunilla first began writing this column, we like to serve up a holiday-themed libation this week. And during a recent round of local cocktail tastings, one stood out as the perfect party pleaser for the Fourth. Handcrafted by the talented staff at Woody Creek Distillers (and made there with their own Woody Creek vodka and housemade ingredients), Shade in the Shadows is the perfect color (red) and balance (stiff, but still refreshing on a summer day) to enjoy all day long. I suggest, for a patriotic touch, serving it with a small American flag as an accent. Or, give it a try at the WCD Tasting Room, any time this summer (read more about Woody Creek Distiller in the summer edition of EAT, online and on newsstands July 6).
Here’s how to cut down your own Holiday Tree
If you are feeling a bit more adventurous or strapped for cash this year, cutting down a holiday tree might be the way to go.
