Mountain Mayhem: From Hanalei to Rock Bottom Ranch

Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Bartolacci. Tyler Lambuth photo.

Earlier this year, Aspenites Jessica Baer and Stephen Bartolacci tied the knot with a seaside ceremony in Hanalei on Kauai’s North Shore. The winter wedding was just how the happy couple had envisioned it – an intimate setting, being barefoot on a beach, surrounded by several loved ones and all perfectly suited to their style.

This fall, they followed up with a farm-to-table dinner in a spectacular Western setting, Rock Bottom Ranch in Basalt. Nearly 100 guests from near and far joined Jess and Steve in celebrating their love on a crisp autumn afternoon last Saturday, Oct. 8. Pan & Fork Catering provided delicious family-style fare, complemented by Steve’s signature cocktail, the Autumn Apple Crush (bourbon, fresh apple juice, canton liquor and lime juice), wines, bubbly and a fabulous dessert bar (bacon-wrapped mini-cupcakes were among the highlights).

Guests enjoyed the sounds of DJ Bhakti Styler upon arrival at the ranch, then the grooves of a local jam band. In keeping with a mountain theme, dinner tables were named after peaks, Mount Elbert, Mount Harvard and Mount Massive. The bride and groom welcomed all to their seats, as Steve and Jess summed their feelings up, noting, “This is all we ever imagined — it’s like a dream come true.” The father of the bride then said grace and dinner was served.
