Danny Becker of Aspen rang in his 50th this fall with an Aloha Birthday Party at his family’s beach house in Laguna, California. Surrounded by lots of close relatives plus many friends from Las Vegas where he was raised, Arizona State University where he went for undergrad, Aspen which is his adopted home, and from his travels, the celebration in the sand took place on Sept. 18, a couple of days prior to his official changing of decades on Sept. 20.

Danny’s family has called the half-moon cove of Emerald Bay their home away from home for generations and it served as the perfect place to mark his significant milestone. Guests of all ages took part in the festivities on a stunning September evening. A Grateful Dead cover band was assembled in his honor with five musicians who had never even jammed together before though you certainly couldn’t tell.

The California coastal cuisine catered dinner was grilled on the beach and followed by an Aloha Birthday cake flavored carrot with cream cheese frosting as the perfect balance of savory and sweet. Happy half-century to Danny!
