Gear Review: 24K gold bike wheels
Gear Junkie

Art meets gear with a new set of bike wheels. The Spengle Gold wheels stand out as likely the most extravagant wheelset on the planet.
Based in Switzerland, the company has made its three-spoke wheel design since 1988. The new model uses a 24-karat gold leaf laid over carbon fiber.
Why? Because bike aficionados sometimes treat bike parts like art.
“The bicycle wheel represents a unique visual canvas — kinetic art in its most pure form,” Spengle CEO Pius Brauchart said.
The company noted each build is made to order and takes three months to complete. They come in the 650b wheel size and are made for road bikes.
