Wilderness Workshop accepting applications for artist-in-wilderness
The application period for Wilderness Workshop’s 2019 Artist in Wilderness program is now open.
The Artist in Wilderness program invites artists for one-week residencies near Aspen in the summer and fall months (July to October). Candidates are selected by a jury of regional artists, collectors and arts administrators. Selected artists will be provided with housing, a hiking guide if requested, a $1,500 stipend, and reimbursement for travel.
This year the nonprofit is seeking artists experimenting with abstract nature photography, defined by conveying feeling, mood, color, movement and/or texture with photographic imagery.
Artists can apply online. The application form and a full description of the residency can be found at callforentry.org, under “Find Calls.”
The submission deadline is March 15.
