Get ready for an explosion of color, creativity, and imagination at the 2025 Greatest Show on Earth! The student art show will be presented from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16, at the Red Brick Center for the Arts. The free event runs through May 7.
The opening reception is sure to display engaging pieces from young artists attending Aspen Country Day School, Aspen Community School, and Aspen Middle School.
“It’s one of our community’s favorite exhibitions that we hold,” said Sarah Roy, executive director of the Red Brick Center for the Arts. “People love this exhibit every year. It brightens and fills the Red Brick with such joy. It’s also a sense of pride for the students to be featured in a professional gallery.”

The annual event highlights the importance of art in education. It hopes to promote the development of a multitude of skills in young people and encourages students to explore their artistic range. There’s also the potential of increasing decision-making ability and other cognitive skills in these creative experiential learners.
“It’s a testament to the art educators that we have in schools,” said Roy. “It highlights the creativity, passion, and uses of teaching skills through the arts.”

There are 200 or more students from kindergarten through eighth grade whose artwork will be on display. There are a variety of mediums, including collages, drawings, and paintings — even mini pots with glazing styles from around the world.
“Seventh and eighth graders learned how to use miniature ceramic wheels to throw these small pots,” said Hilary Forsyth, art teacher at Aspen Community School. “The final pieces are beautiful.”
“This show is a unique collection because it pulls together students’ art from these three different schools, so it won’t be seen anywhere else,” said Roy. “It will only be seen here at this one location.”
