Aspen’s Wheeler Opera House announces December lineup

The Wheeler Opera House announced an eight-show lineup for December 2016, including a concert from the Blind Boys of Alabama, a theatrical production of “A Christmas Carol” and a New Year’s Eve show by the Doo Wop Project.

The full December lineup features:

Blues, country folk and rock singer Crystal Bowersox on Dec. 3, featuring special guest Seth Glier, who headlined the Wheeler earlier this year.

Gospel greats The Blind Boys of Alabama on Dec. 16.

Filmmaker and raconteur Kevin Smith on Dec. 17, a makeup show for his canceled appearance at the Wheeler last December.

An original touring production of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” on Dec. 23, with special effects, heartfelt sentiment and music of the Christmas season.

Australia’s Ten Tenors “Home for the Holidays” show on Christmas Day, showcasing renditions of classic holiday music from the world-renowned vocal group.

Broadway and TV star Adam Trent’s “The Next Generation of Magic” on Dec. 29. Trent is among the magicians in the box office, record-breaking Broadway show “The Illusionists.”

A New Year’s Eve performance by The Doo Wop Project, performing classics to contemporary songs. The evening offers appetizers, an open bar and Champagne at midnight.

Tickets for the Beach Boys on Dec. 28 already are on sale. The 7:30 p.m. show is sold out, but seats are still available at the 3:30 p.m. performance.
