Aspen Chapel Gallery to open mixed media show

Staff report

“Still/Life,” an exhibition of mixed media works by local artists, will open at the Aspen Chapel Gallery on Wednesday.

A reception for the artists will run from 5 to 7 p.m. It will run through April 8.

Participating artists include Curt Carpenter, David Floria, Reina Katzenberger, Carol Loewenstern, Glenn Rappaport, Jill Sabella, Mindy Vernon, David Warner, Greg Watts, and Brad Zeigel.

David Warner and Curt Carpenter curated the show.

“This show is not your usual idea of ‘still life,’” said Warner. “There are artists working in all different mediums, from watercolor, drawing, pottery, woodcuts, photography and acrylic. I think the visual impact of the show will redefine the definition of ‘still life’ as it relates to this art.”
