Theatre Aspen took home eight Colorado Theatre Guild Henry Awards on Monday night for its 2015 season, including Outstanding Production of a Musical for “Cabaret” and the Outstanding Season by a Company award for its four-show repertory last summer.

“Cabaret” also took home two acting trophies: Jon Peterson won the Outstanding Actor in a Musical prize for his turn as the Emcee in “Cabaret,” and Lori Wilner won the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Musical for her performance as Fraulen Scheider. For behind the scenes work, “Cabaret” won Outstanding Musical Director for Eric Alsford and Outstanding Choreography by Mark Martino.

The company’s production of the family drama “Other Desert Cities” won Sarna Lapine the Outstanding Direction of a Play award. Its comedy “Peter and the Starcatcher” earned Oustanding Lighting Design of a Play.

In all, Theatre Aspen had been nominated for 25 awards. The prizes were handed out in a ceremony at the PACE Center in Parker.

The company’s current season features ongoing productions of the musical “Mamma Mia!,” the one-man play “Buyer & Cellar” and the children’s show “Dear Edwina” at the Hurst Theatre in Rio Grande Park. The season will wrap up with the second annual Aspen Theatre Festival in the last week of August.
