St. Paddy’s bash at Snowmass ski area, Base Village
A bit of the Irish descends on Snowmass on Monday, when the town will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with its annual Shamrock Scavenger Hunt and new Base Village Blarney Bash.
Skiers and snowboarders can partake in the mountain-wide Lucky Leprechaun Scavenger Hunt that runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., where giant green shamrocks are hidden throughout the ski trails. Listen to KSNO between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. for clues to find the lucky shamrocks. Clues also are written on the chairlift boards throughout the mountain for participants to follow. Prizes include a snowboard, gift certificates, a round trip from Aspen to Denver on Colorado Mountain Express and more than 30 prizes from Snowmass merchants.
The Base Village Blarney Bash will kick off with DJ Ronnie from 1 to 4 p.m., followed by blues and classic rock ’n’ roll band The Roosters, who perform from 4 to 7 p.m. There will be a ’70s throwback one-piece costume contest and $3 draft green beer along with Jameson and Guinness specials.
