The Anderson Ranch Arts Center will present a solo exhibition of new works by Snowmass Village resident Shawn Benton titled “Be the Lighthouse.”

The exhibition consists of multiple 50-by-50-inch mixed-media works on canvas, part of Benton’s “Monopoly” series, which portrays the powerful shifts in consciousness happening in the world today. Benton’s work is influenced by themes of truth, nature and freedom, which integrate throughout the exhibition in such pieces as “Be the Lighthouse,” “Let the Light In” and “Beauty of Change.”

Benton is no stranger to Anderson Ranch, though this is his first exhibition with the visual-arts organization.

“I am excited to be showing my work at Anderson Ranch,” Benton said. “Through my ‘Monopoly’ series, I am able to portray what I see happening in the world.”

“Be the Lighthouse” will be on view from June 2 through July 3 at the Patton-Malott Gallery at the Anderson Ranch Arts Center. Gallery hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

An opening reception will be 5 to 7 p.m. on June 2. It is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be served.
