Poetry, dance, virtual reality, psychic at Justice Snow’s

Justice Snow’s is hosting an eclectic evening this Halloween weekend, bringing together spoken word, a dance party enhanced with interactive virtual-reality technology and psychic readings.

Titled “Look Beyond,” the event begins at 6 p.m. Saturday with a Healing History Poetry Brothel hosted by Alya Howe and showcasing seven featured poets followed by an open mic. Admission is free but the “brothel” format does sell poems.

A “Liquid Light Dance Party” begins at 8 p.m. (admission is $10). Liquid light is a collaborative project that combines music and interactive-space virtual-reality technology to make the world a better place. (The Liquid Light 3D experience is $15 per person).

“We are on a mission to accelerate human consciousness through a fun experimental path of self-discovery utilizing any creative means necessary combined with virtual/augmented reality experiences,” Liquid Light founder Kyle Piorkowski said in an event announcement. “I truly believe we are entering a new frontier of technological unity mirroring the truth behind life and giving us further inside to its mysterious processes.”

Local psychic Cate Durrett also will be on hand to give readings ($20).
