Pianist and music director of the Aspen Community United Methodist Church Kevin Kaukl will give a recital Sunday at 6 p.m. as part of the church’s continuing series celebrating its 125th anniversary.

Kaukl’s program will include works by Sergei Rachmaninoff, Frederic Chopin and Ludwig van Beethoven. The soloist has given performances across the U.S. and in Austria, Italy and Ireland. His playing has been described by the Irish pianist John O’Conor as “insightful and imaginative.” He was a national finalist in the MTNA Steinway Young Artist competition as a result of winning first prize in both the Washington state and Northwest Regional divisions. His recordings of 20th-century music have been published under an archival grant by the University of Washington.

The recital is free. Donations are welcome.
