Jazz Aspen Snowmass’s annual Student Showcase will take place Wednesday at the Third Street Center in Carbondale. Free and open to the public, the event is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and will highlight some of the best student jazz bands in the area alongside students from the new JAS Beat Lab, which introduces students to electronic music composition.

“We look forward to the Student Showcase every year,” Jazz Aspen’s Andrea Beard said in an announcement. “It’s always a delight to see and hear just how talented these student musicians are. They work so hard all year on their music studies, we encourage the community to join us at the Showcase to celebrate that hard work.”

The evening will include performances by Carbondale Middle School Beat Lab (6 p.m.), Aspen Jazz Ensemble (6:15 p.m.), Roaring Fork High School Jazz Ensemble (6:40 p.m.), Coal Ridge High School Jazz Band (7 p.m.), Glenwood Springs High School Jazz Band (7:20 p.m.), Rifle High School Jazz Band (7:40 p.m.), and Basalt High School Jazz Band (8 p.m.)
