DJs to spin for Jake Foerster Fund benefit at Belly Up Aspen

Staff report

Four DJs will take the stage at Belly Up tonight to honor the memory of Jake Foerster and raise funds for the nonprofit that bears his name.

Foerster, a local DJ and producer known onstage as "FeiVel," died at 22 in Snowmass Village in 2013.

In the years since, the Jake Foerster Music Arts Fund has provided scholarships to graduating Aspen High School students to study music and sound in college.

Tonight's fundraiser will feature Colorado-bred DJs Nas-ja, GrymeTyme, Coult-45 and Lolo.

A Music Night for Jake is the nonprofit's second Belly Up concert since it formed in 2013. It gave out two scholarships in 2014 and three this year. For this school year, scholarships are planned to expand to Basalt High School.
