China highlights Aspen Summer Words Literary Festival

The Aspen Writers’ Foundation’s Aspen Summer Words Literary Festival opened Sunday and continues through Friday with events at the Aspen Institute’s Doerr-Hosier Center. This year’s festival is focused on writing about China. The festival features panel discussions, social events and the presentation of the Colorado Book Awards. Among those in attendance are Chinese-born writers (Yiyun Li), Chinese-Americans (Lisa See, Sandra Tsing Loh) and Americans who have spent time in and reported on China (the journalist couple of Deborah and James Fallows). Also in attendance are Pan Houston, Aspenite Scott Lasser, Tom Barbash and Nino Ricci.
