4 p.m.: Live From the Nell! Culinary Weekend Kickoff
Matt Zubrod and Chris Dunaway, Culinary Director and Wine Director, respectively, at the Little Nell hotel, a Wine Spectator Grand Award property, kick off the Virtual weekend with some food and a bit of wine talk. They had to adjust a bit, and the film “Rocky” will be shown under the moonlight Friday night outside Ajax Tavern. Zubrod will prepare a signature dish and Dunaway will talk about an enjoyable pairing.
5:15 p.m.: Old World vs New World Wines
Johhny Ivansco, long-time Roaring Fork wine expert from Sopris Liquor & Wines, will team with Perrin Wolfe of Old World Wines for an examination of the difference between the old and new world wines. Hand selected wines will be scrutinized.
Saturday June 20, 2020
4 p.m.: Au Natural! Meats, Cheese and Natural Wines
Cheese maker and monger Wendy Mitchell has fallen in love with the fresh flavors of natural wines. Along with Sommelier Chris Schaetzle from the Natural Wine Company, Wendy will pair cheeses with the Natural Wines.
5:15 p.m. Big Ice, Big Wines
They always go big at Jimmy’s. Legendary Aspen restaurateur Jimmy Yeager goes to the fridge to produce the equally legendary BFIC (Big F***ing Ice Cubes). He’ll be joined by sommelier Greg Van Wagner who will keep the theme going by pouring some BAW (Big A** Wines).
