You think you’re so funny? Prove it

ASPEN – Want everyone to be laughing at you? In a good way, of course.
The Aspen Times, in conjunction with the Wheeler Opera House’s upcoming Aspen Laff Festival, is holding a funniest joke or bit contest. You don’t need to be a Freddie Prinze or Richard Pryor – all it takes is one really good joke or comedy bit. In fact, it would help if you’re not a Robert Schimmel or Sam Kinison – the humor must be tasteful. The piece also must be original.
Jokes or bits are to be submitted in written form. To submit a piece, register at www.aspentimes.com/laff. The contest is open to anyone 13 or older. Pieces must be submitted no later than Sunday. Winners will be selected by online voting. First prize is two full festival passes, with the winning joke being read aloud from the stage during the festival. Second prize is two day passes for the festival, with the joke being included in the sizzle reel. Third prize is two tickets to one show, with the joke included in the sizzle reel.
The third annual Aspen Laff Festival, Feb. 21 through 23 at the Wheeler, features Christopher Titus, Colin Quinn, Bobby Slayton and more, along with multi-performer shows, “Comics on … Congress and Lady Parts” and “Comics on … Elective Surgery.”
