Yappy Hour in Aspen will benefit Lucky Day Rescue

ASPEN – An animal-rescue group in the Roaring Fork Valley is holding a benefit Wednesday in Aspen to raise money for its operations.
Lucky Day Rescue’s Yappy Hour will be held at Finbarr’s Irish Pub at 415 E. Hyman Ave. from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $15, which can be paid in cash or check. Contributors will be treated to beer from Aspen Brewing Co., wine and select liquor.
Lucky Day is a foster-based-only organization, which means it doesn’t have a facility. All of the dogs it helps are being cared for in people’s homes from Aspen to Glenwood Springs. The foster owners care for the animals until permanent owners can be found. Lucky Day has found homes for 86 animals so far this year.
Lucky Day is also 100 percent volunteer-operated, so all contributions are used to save and care for animals. Veterinary-care expenses for shots, vaccines, spaying and neutering are among the biggest expenses. Lucky Day also offers food for dogs while they’re in foster care as well as training if necessary.
