Wyly was a class act
Wyly was a class act
Dear Editor:
I was very saddened to read about the passing of Charles Wyly on Sunday. I got to know Wyly through my daughter’s relationship with their family. He was a very gracious and kind man who thoroughly enjoyed people.
We had great talks about college football, since we both played – he at Louisiana Tech and myself at USC. You could see the sparkle in his eyes when I got him to open up and talk about his wonderful life. He was a very humble man, but you could feel his passion about life and his generosity. I could tell he was a good man with a big heart by his handshake and the way he always had great eye contact with you in conversation.
He was a self-made American legend. My prayers go out to his great family. He will be missed.
