Woman stabbed at Basalt-area trailer park
September 29, 2008
EAGLE COUNTY ” A woman was stabbed and wounded by a man at the Aspen-Basalt Mobile Home Park at about 6 a.m. Monday morning, according to authorities.
Few details were immediately available about the incident. Law enforcement officers and an ambulance were called to the scene shortly after 6 a.m. An ambulance crew had to wait until Basalt police confirmed the scene was safe before they could treat the patient. The victim was later taken to Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs for treatment of her injuries, which didn’t appear to be life-threatening.
It was unclear if a person was in custody or if a suspect was on the run.
The mobile home park, at Highway 82 and Willits Lane, is in unincorporated Eagle County. Basalt police responded because there wasn’t an Eagle County deputy sheriff on duty in the area at that time, according to Basalt Police Chief Keith Ikeda.
A spokeswoman for the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office said details would be released Monday about the incident once they are available from the investigator.
