The Anderson Ranch Arts Center

Ann Larson

At the heart of Snowmass Village, in the historic buildings of the old Anderson Ranch, is a renowned art school which offers a myriad of workshops during the summers.

The Anderson Ranch Arts Center, founded in 1966, has become a magnet for accomplished artists who teach innovative arts education programs from June through September.

The reputation of the artist-teachers and the state-of-the-art studios for ceramics, sculpture, furniture making, woodworking, painting, printmaking, photography and digital imaging, attracts students from all over the world.

More than 100 different workshops are available during the summer for beginners, as well as advanced students and they are usually five or 12 days long.

Classes also are available for children. Although registration for these offerings fills up fast, there are always some openings available. Call the registrar at (970) 923-3181 for more information.
