Preps: Aspen girls lacrosse to host Steamboat on Saturday

The Aspen High School girls lacrosse team will host Steamboat Springs in a league game at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Aspen School District Stadium.

The Skiers are 2-3 overall and 2-0 in league play, pending results of a game against Summit on Thursday.

Steamboat Springs is 4-4 overall and 3-1 in league play entering Saturday's contest.

In other local prep action Saturday, the Aspen High School baseball team is scheduled to host state-ranked Gunnison at 11 a.m. at Crawford Field in El Jebel.

The Skiers are 1-3 overall, 1-2 in the Western Slope League.

Gunnison is 5-1 overall and 4-0 in conference.

The AHS boys lacrosse team will play at Ponderosa in Parker on Saturday. The Skiers played at Steamboat Springs on Friday night.

Area track and field athletes will compete in the Eagle Valley Invitational in Gypsum ton Saturday.

In girls soccer, Basalt (2-2-0) will play at Vail Christian (0-2-0) at 3 p.m. Saturday in Edwards.
