America’s Uphill: Saturday at Aspen Mtn.

Staff report

Up?

Yes, up.

America’s Uphill returns for the 2015 edition Saturday morning.

The annual ascent up Aspen Mountain will start at 7 a.m. at the base of the gondola.

A longtime favorite on the Aspen sporting calendar, America’s Uphill will draw hundreds of uphillers – skiers, Nordic skiers, snowshoers and more.

They will climb 3,267 vertical feet over the 2.5-mile course, ending at the Sundeck restaurant at an elevation of 11,212 feet.

Registration is available online at http://www.active.com.

One year ago, two high school teachers from Evergreen won the annual America’s Uphill.

Travis Macy and Brandy Erholtz won top honors. Macy finished in 46 minutes, 56 seconds.

Erholtz won in 54:30.

Aspen’s Kim Master, 19th overall, was second among the women competing last year in the America’s Uphill, which is sponsored annually by Aspen Parks and Recreation and the Ute Mountaineer.
