Pickleball courts ready

Staff report

Pickleball anyone?

Aspen Parks and Recreation is inviting pickleball players to the new pickleball courts installed at the Iselin tennis courts near the Aspen Recreation Center (ARC).

Susan Arenella, operations manager for Aspen recreation, said there are four pickleball courts at Iselin along with one full tennis court.

The lines are painted and the nets are in place and ready to go.

Pickleball is a rapidly growing racquet sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis.

It’s a net game that is increasingly popular with players of all ages and abilities.

Videos of pickleball play and rules are available online.

Pickleball is free to the public on a first-come, first-served basis.

Rental paddles and balls are available for $5 at the Aspen Recreation Center.
