New website features all-things biking in Snowmass

On June 30, Snowmass Tourism announced the launch of BikeSnowmass.com, a website geared toward road and mountain bikers of all ages and abilities.

Users can navigate through various trails and rides in Snowmass by ability level — beginner, intermediate or advanced — as well as dirt or asphalt trails. The trails section distinguishes rides that are loops or "out and back" trips as well as cross-country, mountain trail or road rides.

Trail details include the number of miles, the vertical ascent and descent amount, the elevation and the percentage of the trail that is singletrack.

A "Biking in Snowmass" section of the site features information about biking clinics, the Snowmass Bike Park and biking for kids.

"Snowmass Village is a cycling community at the core. Weekly races offer a fantastic way to meet and mingle with local cyclists while giving you the opportunity to challenge yourself to a personal best. Additionally, Snowmass hosts multiple cycling events for riders of all abilities, including the only U.S. stop of the Enduro World Series, the VIDA MTB Series Flagship Clinic, Snowmass Demo Days and more," the site says.

With more than 75 miles of mountain-biking trails, downhill-biking access via the Elk Camp Gondola and Elk Camp Chairlift, world-class Gravity Logic-built jump trails, and an extensive cross-country trail system, Snowmass is filled with options that cater to all experience levels and cycling types, according to Snowmass Tourism. The lift-served freeride and downhill trail network at the Snowmass Bike Park was recently named a bronze-level ride center by the International Mountain Bicycling Association. The new Snowmass Loop trail consists of 24 miles of continuous singletrack combining more than 10 different trails that can be split into three or four different sections. In addition to great mountain-biking trails, the area's paved trails include the Brush Creek Trail and the Rio Grande Trail.
