Evelyn Fay Hemming

April 21, 1922 - February 2, 2015

Evelyn was born on her family’s farm in Dyer, Tennessee. After High School she moved to Chicago, Il where she worked at Eversharp Corporation.

She met Eugene Hemming while working at Eversharp and they were married on September 6, 1947.

Evelyn moved to Aspen in 1992, a few years after Eugene’s death. When Evelyn wasn’t working in her flower gardens she volunteered for the Wheeler Opera house, The Aspen Music Festival, The Seniors Center, and The Aspen Food and Wine Classic. She was extremely proud of her grandchildren and would brag about their achievements to all of her friends.

Evelyn thought that she was blessed to live in Aspen which she said was the most beautiful place in the world.

Evelyn was proceeded in death by her husband Eugene, her twin sister Edith, sister Marjorie, brothers Ray and Ralph. She is survived by her son Gregg and daughter in law Karen and well as her grand children Hannah and Luke.


There will be a celebration of her life on Friday March 20th from, 2:00 – 6:00 at 1015 Waters Ave, Aspen.
