New vice principal named at Aspen Middle school

Molly Tiernan has accepted the position of Aspen Middle School assistant principal.
Tiernan, a counselor for the last 10 years at the middle school, fills the position that came open when former vice principal Craig Rogers accepted the principal job in April.
“Molly has developed a deep understanding of Aspen Middle School philosophy and pedagogy,” Rogers said in an email. “For several years Molly has fulfilled administrative responsibilities pertaining to cognitive coaching, academic intervention planning, and the facilitation of state academic mandates. She also possesses extensive knowledge in regards to the social, emotional, and academic needs of our middle school community.”
Tiernan has lived in Aspen for 10 years. Her husband, Zeke, was born and raised in Aspen and teaches history at Aspen Country Day School. The couple have two daughters.
“I am very excited to be a part of the leadership team with Craig,” Tiernan said via email. “I’ve known Craig for ten years and watched him grow into the principal position. I’m confident we’re going to be able to maintain the positive and truly fun atmosphere that is well established at the middle school. I’m looking forward to helping the middle school continue along the positive trajectory that (former principal) Tom Heald set for us over the past several years.”
