CARBONDALE – A mudslide Sunday afternoon closed Highway 133 south of Carbondale to travel in both directions, according to the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office.
The slide is north of Redstone and south of Carbondale, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
The highway will be closed until CDOT crews clear the debris. For updated road conditions, go to http://www.cotrip.org.
On Interstate 70, eastbound lanes were closed at about 11:30 a.m. Sunday near Edwards after a semi-truck was involved in a rollover accident, according to state and local authorities.
At about 3 p.m. Sunday, a statement from authorities said the road would be closed for several more hours. Lightning and other safety concerns were preventing immediate cleanup of the accident.
Motorists were being rerouted onto eastbound U.S. Highway 6 and advised to expect delays.
