GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Mesa County leaders are joining those speaking out about attempts to restrict gun rights.
All three county commissioners voted on Monday to back a resolution which seeks to nullify any statutes, executive orders or other regulations that infringe on people’s right to bear arms under the Second Amendment.
The Daily Sentinel ( http://bit.ly/X5w7Ky ) reported that hearing room was packed for the vote, which drew a standing ovation.
Commissioners in El Paso and Weld counties have also passed resolutions supporting gun rights. Sheriffs in El Paso, Garfield, Larimer and Weld counties have also voiced their opposition to new gun restrictions.
