Making a difference
In recognition of National Volunteer Week, I would like to thank the 50-plus volunteer tutors of Basalt Regional Library’s Adult Literacy Program. It is their hard work, caring and commitment that makes the program possible.
Volunteer tutors meet with students every week for at least six months, usually longer. In that time, tutors teach students the skills they need to function more effectively as members of this community.
In a valley where people’s lives are extremely full, it is inspiring to know so many people who are ready to make a little extra time in their week, to make someone else’s life that much better.
Thanks Adult Literacy Program volunteers. You’re the best!
