Hudson Reed to do ‘Much Ado’

ASPEN ” The local theater company the Hudson Reed Ensemble will present its third annual free Shakespeare in the Park series, with a production of “Much Ado About Nothing.”
The play opens Wednesday, Aug. 13, and continues with performances each Wednesday and Saturday through Aug. 30, at 6:30 p.m., in the Galena Street Plaza behind the Pitkin County Library.
The play runs just more than an hour, and families are encouraged to bring picnic dinners.
“Much Ado About Nothing,” a comedy about two couples searching for romance and happiness in the Italian town of Messina, will be directed by British Shakespeare scholar Ruth Leon. The cast includes Mike Monroney, Kathy Markel, Kim Nuzzo, Gerald DeLisser, Todd Hartley, and Hudson Reed Ensemble artistic director Kent Reed.
Aspen City Council considers additional increases to food tax refund
Just as everyone was getting used to the $15 increase in the food tax refund, Aspen City Council unanimously agreed that they’d like to see it increase even more.
