Hospitable site for hospital

The Shale Bluffs site of 129 acres seems ideal for our new Aspen Valley Hospital campus. As our educational facilities have grown, so must our health care needs be met.
This particular area will simplify construction traffic, relieving Aspen congestion as well as Brush Creek Road uphill traffic.
With natural landscaping and buildings set back against the south hill, upvalley views and open space will be preserved. Meadows across the road on Cozy Point will remain open for special events parking and summer hay. Already the transportation hub across Highway 82 to the east serves us all well.
The Aspen Skiing Co. and Intrawest, as well as all citizens, are responsible for creating a first-rate health center which could be known worldwide as an important part of our vast four-mountain, year-round recreation destination.
The present AVH would eventually become a fine senior retirement center offering various choices in size of condo living. With the schools so near, volunteerism and participation by older citizens would be encouraged … RFTA being an important means of transportation throughout the Roaring Fork Valley.
Ski trails in winter and bike trails in summer, an active life for all!
