The cheapest way to get to Aspen from the Pitkin County Airport is by bus. This free service stops directly in front of the airport on Highway 82. Buses typically run at :02 and :32 after the hour. Car rental and shuttle service are also available from Aspen to and from Denver International Airport. This depends on the nature of your trip. If you are staying in downtown Aspen or Snowmass and plan on skiing for most of the time, then probably not. The bus system is free and there are plenty of cultural and social opportunities without venturing far. Parking is scarce. If you are planning on venturing around the valley, then a car is a great option. There are many scenic drives and beautiful destinations accessible by car.
