ASPEN – Aspen Skiing Co. on Thursday was named to Outside magazine’s fifth annual “Best Places to Work” list.
Skico was ranked 80th out of 100 selected companies. Profiles of the top-10-performing small, medium and large companies will be published in the September issue of Outside, available on newsstands Aug. 14. The full list of 100 is available now at www.outsideonline.com.
“We are honored to receive this award for the third time,” said Jim Laing, vice president of human resources and retail operations at Skico. “It is especially gratifying because it’s based on direct feedback from our employees. Our survey scores have increased each year as we have listened to our employees’ feedback and implemented changes to improve their work environment. The process works.”
“We’re thrilled to celebrate all 100 of these forward-thinking companies,” said Michael Roberts, senior executive editor of Outside. “They believe success depends on helping their employees live more active and fulfilling lives. The kinds of benefits they’re providing – free fitness classes, flexible hours, subsidized healthy meals, lots of time out of the office – result in a more productive and engaged staff.”
